Our Mission
The mission of the Toledo Food Pantry is to provide food assistance to those in need living in the Toledo / Elk City / Sawyers Landing areas.
Primary Purpose
To provide strategic leadership to build an economically and environmentally sustainable local food system for Toledo and the surrounding area of Lincoln County, Oregon.
Our Primary Goal
To assure that all residents of this region have access to high-quality, locally-produced, nourishing, affordable, and culturally diverse foods.
Our Community
What we do
In 1995 a group of volunteers from Trinity United Methodist Church started handing out food boxes with items supplied by the Oregon Food Bank to hungry families in Toledo one day a week. This was the beginning of what has become the Toledo Food Share Pantry. Over the past twenty years as the need for food assistance has grown so has the pantry. It now operates as an independent 501(c)(3) organization with over 30 local volunteers who make up our board and staff.
Service Area
0-1500 Yasek Loop, Elk City, Sawyers Landing to Toledo on Yaquina Bay Road.
Income
Toledo Food Share Pantry requires proof of residency within our service area, such as a piece of mail addressed to the individual seeking to use the pantry. Proof of income is NOT required.
